Koh Mr.Saxman หรือ เศกพล อุ่นสำราญ เป็นชื่อที่คุ้นตาหลังปกอัลบั้มต่างๆ ตลอดเวลา เกือบ 20 ปีที่ผ่านมา ในฐานะนักดนตรีในสตูดิโอที่มีงานมากที่สุดคนหนึ่ง

โก้ จบการศึกษาด้านดนตรีจากคณะครุศาสตร์จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย (2534-2537) ทั้งที่ก่อนหน้านั้น โก้เรียนด้านบัญชีที่พณิชยการพระนคร และมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้นที่โรงเรียนสวนกุหลาบวิทยาลัยนนทบุรี โดยการชักนำและให้โอกาสของ อาจารย์กวินท์วุฒิ กลั่นไพฑูรย์ ให้มาเป็นนักดนตรีอาชีพ ด้วยความที่อาจารย์เล็งเห็นว่า โก้จะสามารถทำงานด้านดนตรีได้ดี

โก้จึงเริ่มเป็นนักดนตรีอาชีพตั้งแต่อายุ 15 ปี โดยเล่นแซ็กโซโฟน ตามโรงแรม, ร้านอาหาร, ผับและดิสโก้เทคหลายแห่ง ทั่วประเทศ โก้และเพื่อนๆ ตั้งวงดนตรีชื่อว่า Boy Thai และมีอัลบั้มแรกกับวงนี้ โดยการสนับสนุนของ คุณอัมพร จักกะพาก โดยผสมดนตรีแจ๊สและดนตรีไทยเข้าด้วยกัน สร้างความแปลกใหม่ให้กับวงการดนตรีไทยในยุค 90′ โก้ได้รับเลือกให้เล่นแซ็กโซโฟนกับวงดนตรีชั้นนำหลายวง เช่น The Jazz Infinity, T-Bone ก่อนจะสร้างวงดนตรีของตัวเอง และมี Solo Album ที่ชื่อว่า Mr.Saxman ในที่สุด

โก้ออก Solo Album กับ GMM Grammy (Giraffe Records) ภายใต้การสนับสนุนจากพี่ดี้ นิติพงษ์ ห่อนาค, พี่ฉ่าย สมชัย ขำเลิศกุล, พี่นิ่ม สีฟ้า คืออัลบั้ม Mr.Saxman (2002), Sax Appeal (2003) และ Sax is all around (2006) โก้ยังมี Jazz album กับ Jeremy Monteiro Internation Trio Recording ใน L.A. (U.S.A.), The other side of Koh (2004) และ Jazz album กับเพื่อนๆ ในนาม The Jazz Brothers (2005) โก้มีผลงานใหม่กับค่ายเพลงแจ๊สค่ายแรกของเมืองไทยที่ชื่อว่า “Mellow Tone Records” โดยการบริหารของตัวเองและคุณหนึ่ง ณัฐวุฒิ พันธ์สายเชื้อ (Mr.Drumer) ซึ่งเป็นโปรดิวเซอร์ของโก้ในอัลบั้ม The sound of Saxman (2008) แนวดนตรี Smooth and Pop-Jazz ที่ร่วมงานกับนักดนตรีระดับโลกหลายคน เช่น Darren Rahn, Mel Brown, Frank Selman ซึ่งทำการบันทีึกเสียงที่เมือง Denver ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา

โก้บันทึกเสียงให้กับศิลปินต่างๆ หลายท่าน อาทิ เบิร์ด ธงไชย แมคอินไตย์, นันทิดา แก้วบัวสาย, มาลีวัลย์ เจมิน่า, Jennifer Kim, Loso, BodySlam, วิยะดา โกมารกุล ณ นคร เป็นต้น

งานสอนดนตรี เป็นอีกงานที่โก้รัก และเคยผ่านงานสอนจากมหาวิทยาลัยชั้นนำ อาทิ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล, มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์และมหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต โก้ยังได้ก่อตั้ง Saxophone Community ขึ้นภายใต้ชื่อของ Sax Society (http://www.saxsociety.com) และยังเป็น Endorser ของ P. Mauriat Saxophones (http://www.pmauriatmusic.com) อีกด้วย

และจากความมุ่งมั่นของโก้ที่มีมาเป็นเวลานาน วันนี้จึงมี Chillin’ Groove Records (http://www.chillingroove.com) ค่ายเพลงแนว Chilling music ที่ร่วมกับอีกหลายศิลปินคุณภาพ กับงานเพลงที่โก้ตั้งใจทำขึ้นมาเพื่อสร้างความสุขให้กับทุกคน Chillin’ Groove Records, Tasty Music, ดนตรี มีรสชาติ…

Koh, born in 1973, studied Music Education at Chulalongkorn University (1991-1994). He attended to workshops with the Great Saxophone professors such as Mr.Trent Kynaston, Mr. Roger Greenberg, Mr.Heavey Pettel and Mr.Michael Paolo.

- In 1990 Koh won the award of the Best Outstanding musician from the Thailand Coke Music Award Program.
- In 1991, Koh and his band were selected and be awarded as the Champion of the Nescafe Music Festival.
- In 1992 Koh and his band were awarded as Champion of the Yamaha Thailand Band Competition and reached the final round of the World Finals in Japan.

Since then he performed in over 10 different countries and recorded 5 solo albums. He also performed in hundreds of records, films, television shows and commercial jingles.

Koh began his professional career in 1989, when he was only 16 years old. Later he became a member of different bands such as Boy Thai Band (Thai modern music), The Jazz Infinity (Thai Fusion Jazz) and T-Bone (Thai Reggae and Ska Band). Koh finally formed his own band called “The Funk Machine Band” playing fusion jazz, funky and pop jazz music and played in many clubs in Thailand.

During this time Koh performed with artists such as Bird (Thongchai Macintai), Jennifer Kim, Body Slam, Loso and many other top artists in Thailand. Koh also performed in several concerts and festivals in and out of Thailand such as:

and played in several important musical functions in Italy, England, Ireland, the U.S.A, etc.

Koh has released 5 solo albums as “Koh Mr.Saxman”, 4 albums with GMM Grammy (in the genre of Thai Pop and Fusion jazz), 1 album with own production and the latest album –The Sound of Saxman– with Mellow Tone. Many of his songs got extended radio play and reached the Top on radio charts.

In 2003, Koh won the prize for the “Best Instrumental Song of the Year” with the song “Rush Hour” from his first album “Mr.Saxman.”

Koh teaches music and saxophone in the music departments at Mahidol University, Kasetsart University, Rangsit University and at the KPN music academy. Koh has also organized the Saxophone community in Thailand into a society called the “Sax Society” (www.saxsociety.com) and he still continues to serve as an official Endorser of P.Mauriat Saxophones (www.pmauriatmusic.com).

Passionated by the Jazz music, today, he launched his own music house called “Chillin’ Groove Records” promoted through http://www.chillingroove.com.
“Chilling music” symbolizes a new way to feel the music melody shared with other brillant artists within Chillin’ Groove Records and called “Tasty Music”…
